I've always been a big fan of gel deodorants because they are easier to apply and leave no residue. After I switched to cleaner products, I could not find a gel deodorant that was clean. I was therefore thrilled when Necessaire sent me their new gel deodorant to try.
I've been using this deodorant exclusively for about three months now. It has a clean formula so you do not have to worry about aluminum, fragrance, parabens, or PEGS. It's also lacking baking soda, an ingredient that can cause skin irritation. If you are sensitive to baking soda, this deo is for you! I love how it dries quickly and does not leave a residue on my clothes.
One interesting fact that sets this deodorant apart is the fact that it contains 5% alpha-hydroxy acids. This helps you in two ways. It keeps the pH in your skin down to inhibit the growth of bacteria that cause body odor. In addition, it also helps facilitate cell turnover in the armpit area, improving the appearance of skin discolorations and minimizing razor bumps after shaving. The exfoliating plant acids are balanced with skin-soothing ingredients like chamomile and niacinamide to minimize any chance of irritation in the armpit area.
I couldn't love the packaging more. It's made of a high percentage PCR (post-consumer recycled) paperboard. The deodorant bottle is made of glass and resin. I'm definitely more drawn to clean products that do not leave a big footprint.
