Chocolate bread is always a hit at home. Both of my kids will eat it which does not happen often. I'm trying to keep recipes like this handy now that we're home for at least the next three weeks to keep everyone happy. We prepare the mix together too to get them involved.
I have made this type of bread a bunch of times with different flour combinations and protein powder or collagen peptides. This seems to be the most popular mix at my house and the one I like best.
The bread is soft and does not crumble. It will nost last long!
Here are the details you need to make this bread at home:
Ingredients:
1 cup Bob's Red Mill almond flour
1/2 cup Bob's Red Mill all purpose flour (gluten-free)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 cup mashed bananas
2 eggs
1/4 cup almond butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup Bob's Red Mill all purpose flour (gluten-free)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 cup mashed bananas
2 eggs
1/4 cup almond butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

Preheat the oven to 350 F and spray the bottom of a tray with oil. Peel and mash the bananas. Mix the wet and dry ingredients separately. Combine. Add to pan and bake for about 25 minutes or until a knife comes out clean. Place on rack to cool. I like to slice the bread and put it in a container so it's ready to go. Enjoy!
Here are the nutrition facts for this bread. It's low carb too! My kids will have some nut butter on it. They used to both eat sunbutter but now Nahia only has peanut butter.
I highly suggest slicing the bread before storing it. It just makes mornings easier!
