FRIDAY FIVE :: Back to School- Kid's Immunity

As we get ready to go back to school after Labor Day, I am stocking up on supplements, immune boosters and others to help us navigate germ season.

Here are our staples:

1.  A multivitamin is a daily must-have.  My kiddos are both on a gluten-free diet so it's very important to give them good supplements to make sure they are getting all their vitamins.  These ones have been a hit at my house.  They are not sugar bombs and have fun animal shapes in different colors.

2.  I incorporated a kids' probiotics a couple of years ago and I am convinced it has helped us.  There is evidence in the literature suggesting that probiotics help boost immunity so we have a better fighting chance against common germs.

3.  If there's a bug going around their classroom or we are in the midst of flu season, I like to add these vitamin c gummies to the mix.  They have zinc which helps support immunity and echinacea which boosts immunity and helps lessen cold symptoms.

4.  Kids are germ magnets so I like to keep a packet of these essential oil hand wipes in the car.  We use them as soon as we get out of school.  They are a natural alternative to hand sanitizers without harsh chemicals or alcohol.  I love them!

5.  If my kids are coming down with something, we like to use elderberry syrup.  It's going to help boost their immunity and sometimes it helps prevent the snowball of symptoms.

There you go!  These are some of my must-haves to help keep my kiddos healthy.  Are any of these on your radar?  Let me know in the comments!  Please remember to consult with your doctor before starting any new supplement with your kiddos.
