MY BEAUTY FAVES: Burt's Bees Lip Balms and Crayons

I wanted to start a series on beauty products that I use on a daily basis.  Some products are staples that I have used for a long time and some are new finds that I am enjoying.  When selecting products, I try to keep two things in mind:  composition (gluten content and chemicals) and price.  For the chemicals, I tend to avoid parabens for example among others.  Since I need to stay gluten-free, I also avoid any compounds that are linked to wheat or oats because I am also sensitive to them, even if they are gluten-free.  This makes finding a good hydrating hand lotion tough, but that's a topic for another day.  For the price, I stay within a reasonable budget.

Burt's Bees has always been a staple for me.  I know it's not certified gluten-free like other brands but I seem to do okay with their lip balms and crayons.  If you look at the ingredient list for both, none of the components are linked to gluten directly and the products do get a pretty good rating in the EWG cosmetic database.  I have tried other more expensive, all natural brands but always seem to buzz back to Burt's bees.

I particularly like their lip crayons.  I am not big into lipsticks so lip crayons are a good compromise that give me a boost of color.  They have just the right amount of moisture and pigment for me.  Their lip balms are a must have-  I always have one with me!  The best part is that my 7 year old daughter is now into lip balms too so we can go shopping for them together.

Thank you for reading!
