I was intrigued by the "rescue" label on this eye cream. I mean, I'm a Mom so my eyes are by default in need of a rescue every day. I was out of my other eye cream and Beautycounter was running their special last month so I gave this one a whirl. I've always been drawn to Beautycounter's mission to raise awareness for clean beauty products. It's kind of what I try to do on my own with anybody who will listen.
Now lets talk about this eye cream. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I have to say that I like it! It's pricey for an eye cream but I've come to appreciate that you get what you pay for. With eye creams too you really only need a small dot to cover the eye area so this tube should last a while.
This cream has a middle of the line consistency, not too thick or runny and no noticeable fragrance which I like. It absorbs readily and does not sting my eyes, nor does it cause milia. That's three boxes checked. Now lets talk formulation. The eye cream gets a rating of 1 on the EWG database so you know it's safe and does not contain any harmful chemicals. It's key ingredients are squalene oil to hydrate the delicate eye area and betaine and phytic acid to oxygenate and reduce the appearance of shadows in the delicate eye area. I must say, I have noticed some improvement in my quintessential under eye circles. It's not like they are gone completely or barely noticeable but my concealer is more efficient these days and I don't look as tired even though my sleeping log has not changed.
